Lady Buff Golfers Sit in Fifth after Round One of LSC Championships

THACKERVILLE, Okla. - Following the conclusion of the first 18 holes of play, the West Texas A&M women's golf team sits in fifth place at the Lone Star Conference Women's Golf Championships with a team score of 328. Tarleton State leads the event, which is being held at WinStar Golf Course, after a team round of 302 on Monday.

Sophomore Whitney Osborne fired an opening round 80 to rank as the top Lady Buff in a tie for 13th overall, just one shot up on teammate Lacy Torbert, who carded an 81 to end the round in a tie for 16th.

Tarleton State's Carla Cooper and Northeastern State's Stephanie Bird top the leader board after Monday with two-over rounds of 74.

WT junior Stephanie Boldger sits in a tie for 19th after an opening round 83, while Mollie Peterson (84) and Kaylee Zaiontz (85) ended play in 24th and 26th places respectively.

Play at the LSC Championships will continue Tuesday at WinStar Golf Course; with the first group teeing off at 8 a.m. Fans can follow tournament with live scoring at Lone Star Conference Golf.
