POTTSBORO, Texas - After one round of play in Texas A&M-Commerce's Lion Invitational, the West Texas A&M women's golf team sits in second place after shooting a team total of 336, 12 strokes behind leader Nebraska-Omaha.

Christal Kendrick shot an 82 on the day to finish in a tie for eighth place with teammate Whitney Osborne nipping at her heels with an 83 and a tie for 10th place.

Mollie Peterson and Stephanie Boldger shot an 85 and an 86, respectively, while Lacy Tolbert shot an 88.

Kaylee Zaiontz also participated in the first round of the tournament as an individual.

Round two of the invitational is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday at Tanglewood Golf Resort.
