Lady Buff Golf Ties for Second Place in Red River Intercollegiate Tournament



Sophomore Christal Kendrick finished first for the Lady Buffs with a two-day score of 160 to tie for 6th place

THACKERVILLE, Okla. - After sharing the overall lead in the first round of the Red River Intercollegiate Golf Tournament, the West Texas A&M women's golf team lost in a playoff round to finish the tournament tied for second place with a team score of 651. Christal Kendrick led the way for the Lady Buffs with a 77 in round one and an 83 in round two for a two-day total of 160 and a tie for 6th place individually.

The Lady Buffs tied with Lon Morris Community College, while Lubbock Christian won the tournament with a team score of 638. Tournament host East Central finished 8th in the field of eight schools with a team total of 719.

Following Kendrick, Lacy Tolbert tallied a 162 as she finished day one with an 82 and day two with an 80 to place 11th, while Whitney Osborne tied for 12th place with a 163 (81 on day one, 82 on day two).

Rounding out the scores for the Lady Buffs were Mollie Peterson, who recorded a 166 to finish in 15th place, and Stephanie Boldger, who finished the tournament with 168 after completing each round with scores of 84.

WT is on the course next week as the Lady Buffs travel to Pottsboro, Texas, for Texas A&M-Commerce's Pepsi Lion Invitational, held at Tanglewood Resort.
