April 2, 2008
CANYON, Texas - Adding to his already impressive list of accolades following a standout senior campaign for the West Texas A&M men's basketball team, Robert Lee received another this week as he was selected a 2008 State Farm Division II All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). Lee, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, was the Buffs' most potent offensive weapon during their run to the postseason, averaging a team-high 18.3 points per game and topping the 30 point mark on four occasions. Additionally, Lee contributed 5.5 rebounds per contest and racked up a team-leading 41 steals. During Lone Star Conference South Division play, Lee elevated his game to a higher level by averaging a division-leading 21.1 points per game to capture LSC South Player of the Year honors. In addition to LSC South Player of the Year and NABC All-American Accolades, Lee was named a Daktronics All-Region performer. The only other LSC player to be named the NABC All-America squad was Central Oklahoma's Sam Belt. Last season, WT's Damien Lolar received All-American acclaim following a standout senior year in which he led the Lone Star Conference in scoring. 2008 State Farm Division II All-America team |
